IT related cables

Greetings!

We are starting to clear out storage at work before a big move at the end of the year. We have a lot of old IT stuff to dispose of. What should I be on the lookout for? Heavy duty power cables, yes. UPS, yes. What about CAT patch cables? Anything that can be used for hifi? If there is, I will grab as much as I can to give away to our stereo friends.

Definitely save any heavy duty power cables and UPS (uninterruptible power supplies) units, even those with dead batteries. Save any power strips also.

Yep, any pure sine wave UPS and power distribution. Have an enclosed 19" half rack cabinet that I like for all of my pro audio junk. Also have several open frame 19" rack parts that are handy to chop up for all sorts of projects.

People sometimes make speaker cables out of cat5, if its free maybe worth the experiment

Even run-of-the-mill power strips? Any Tripp Lights are going right to my workshop.

This is why I asked about the Cat5 or 6. I've no interest in them, but others might just for this reason.

Not cheap power strips but I'm going by the IT department in my old job. They only purchased nice power strips.
