in an audio application the shield probably doesn't make that much difference anyway. You'd get more out of an external shield.

I was originally looking for RCA clear tops, but read several reviews saying the RCA black plates sound better. I ended up pulling the trigger on this pair of RCA black plates for $28.50 shipped. Seemed like a better way to get into pair of black plates than the $750 Marconis.

Just kidding.

Loving these black plate RCAs. They're not much to look at, as compared to the stock GEs, but they really open up. Very funky. Totally worth the $30.
