I've been distracted by a project rebuilding a Fender Champ amp and then building a lap steel guitar to go with it Now it's done I'm back to my Marantz stuff.

I found a way cool double side stickum for things like the vellum paper and front plastic radio indicator panel.. I bought the assortment which has been useful for other projects.

The glue itself is very thin and has a thicker plastic top that you peel off after you put in place. It can be repositioned at first if you don't press down too hard while putting it into place.

The light is just a reminder why I replace all of them even the one in the dial pointer.

I use that same tape Mike, just redid my 2325. If you don't want to pay shipping you can get it at any Michael's or Joann's store.

Welcome back, Mike! Tell us more about the lap steel guitar project. Did you build it from scratch? I’m a Les Paul player, but never tried a lap steel. Looks nice!

Hey Steve, its a built up 1x4 then shaped so yeah, from scratch I had a Guild Bluesbird for some years and I still have an acoustic. But, the laptop is a tribute to dad who passed two years ago. I have his old picks and slide from when he played lap steel in Hawaii when on leave at Pearl. I decided to build one up and see if I could learn to play it. He wasn't the best teacher in the world but he loved his steel and I love Hawaiian music from his playing when I was a kid. I'm hooked to a Fender Champ amp that I restored

Very cool! I played lead guitar in a classic rock cover band for over 25 years. We haven’t played in nearly 10 years, and one of our members asked if we would get back together to play for his 50th high school reunion. So we have been trying to get the rust off for a couple of months, and we play tonight. It’s gonna be fun to perform again. We played from several decades, but they want late 50’s and 60’s. So, Johnny B. Goode, You Really Got Me, Take a Little Piece of My Heart, Mustang Sally, are a sample of the kind of stuff we will be playing,

6 power cords.. done The very first song I ever learned to play was "House of the Rising Sun".. pops had some issues with a 10 year old playing that tune

Hah! That was probably the first rock song I learned. After learning the guitar basics on songs like My Darling Clementine, I got some Peter, Paul and Mary tablature books and learned their finger picking style and lots of chords. That folk type playing has served me well to this day with the rock/blues I have spent most of my life playing. Here is my main "performance unit" that I will use tonight. Got it new many years ago, and it fits like a glove.

Nice combo. The Fender Champ is a nice little amp. Tubes, right? I use a Fender Stage 112 SE. I haven’t used it much in several years. When I started getting ready for this gig, I took it apart enough to Deoxit the pots. They were very scratchy and intermittent. Sounded great, but during the show last night, the amp started rumbling on the low notes. Drove me crazy. We were playing LOUD. I tried lowering the volume some and it didn’t help. I was playing on both top and bottom pickups at the time, so I switched to just the bottom pickup. It was way more brilliant sounding than I wanted, but the sound just turned to mud otherwise. It worked out OK, but just a PITA-
