I pre-ordered it as well. Gimmicks (which I love) aside, the album tracks uploaded to YouTube convinced me of getting it.

I will get the cd once it comes out. 2014 is turning out to be the best year in music since 2011 in my opinion.

Mentions of the album. But, not a lot of details.

Crazy gimmicks on that LP. Who's gonna peel off the labels to listen to the hidden tracks ? Acid test right there.

The tracks I have heard (Lazaretto and Highball Stepper) are pretty alright. Compare favorably to the White Stripes material.

Yep - I learned of it maybe a week ago and I pre-ordered it then. Promises to be some kinda interesting release.

As JW says in the Ultra-LP demo video, the paper was sucked into the grooves and you are supposed to be able to play the tracks through the label (with a lot of scratchiness). Of course, it's up to you to run your stylus over the paper label or not.

I preordered as well. In the video I saw, Jack White played the hidden songs right through the label. That's got to be a killer on the stylus.

Yeesh no thanks. I might listen to them once to hear them but that doesn't sound like a good idea at all

OTOH I guess no one will be peeling them off !

Pretty sure the label is printed in to the vinyl so no need to peel it off. Then again could be wrong.
