james audio OPT

Im going to start an amp build this week and want to order my OPT's. Ive looked quite a bit and in my price range I found James Audio JS-6123HS. does anyone have info on the quality of these. If you have ideas on other manufactures I might look at please let me know my budget is 300 shipped.

Heard alot of good thing about them.I recently traded a set of these with " specialidiot " for a SS Yamaha Amp. --He got the better end of the deal.

I have a pair that I bought for my 300B amp. I like the James stuff, it sounds very good and has nice build quality. You can't go wrong for the price IMO.

I use James iron in my 2A3/45 amp and have heard it in 300B, 50 & 211 amps - very good stuff.

A friend of mine built a "triode-strapped" EL34 monoblocks with that tranny.

It sounds very good, the price has gone up on them last year, they were really inexpensive before that time.

You might try having a look at what Electra-Print has offer. You could also get a pair of Magnequest "Robin Hood" series transformers. Ask him how much extra it would cost to get end bells on them.
