Janszen Z-40 Speaker Grill Removal

I just purchased a pair of Janszen Z-40 speakers. The electrostatic panels seem to be working OK but I am getting distortion from the woofers. I am guessing that they might need new foams but I can't figure out how to get the grills off. Anybody have any experience with these speakers?

Love to see these! I had some bookshelf Janszens in the late '70s that were really nice. The woofers on mine had doped cloth surrounds. The grills were some sort of open cell foam that would not have survived the years. The power supplies will need some work, but if all of the tweeter panels work you are in for a treat!

Hi, I hope this information doesn't come too late. I struggled to find it online but it was nowhere to be found. Here is how you can remove the grills and metal frame if needed. Remove the square grill cover at the top; lift a corner of the grill, it's held on with Velcro; once it's all released at the top, start pushing the grill downward; when you are close to the bottom of the frame you will see 4 screws holding it to the box; remove them and you can rock the frame back and forth upward; once it has cleared the box and electrostatic equipment you can release the bottom of the grill held in place with Velcro.
