Java + AK Chat Issues

So Z and I notice we're in chat all alone. And we don't like it. The chipper is running and one of us may not make it out alive.

Here's what to do if Java is RUINING YOUR LIFE:
After you are forced to download the latest Java update (Version 7 Update 51) you need to go to Start (or program files) --> Java --> Configure Java --> "Security" tab--> lower the security level to "medium" and also,
you may want to add "http://client11.addonchat/current/" to the list of site exceptions.

Also, at some point it will be a good idea to go to the Control Panel--> Uninstall programs and uninstall any previous versions of Java you see there.

You can thank me later (do I have to do everything around here!?), :smoke:

I just wish it was acceptable for iOS to function with Java. I mainly use my iPad to surf ak.... Would be nice to chat again.

I agree. When I was looking to buy a lightweight tablet/netbook I originally was dead set on an iPad. Then I realized AK chat (Java) wouldn't work on most--if not all--tablets, so I settled for a windows netbook. That's how much it means to me. I'm such a sucker :scratch2:

Now you confused the crap out me.... You say to go to START OR PROGRAM FILES... THE FOMER i CAN GET TO, BUT WHERE AM I GOING AFTER THAT?

yOU'VE GOT TO DIRECT IN BABY STEPS...WHERE EVER i LAND, IS THAT WHERE I ADD THE "http" TEXT TO SITE EXCEPTIONS.... I'M SUNK AT THIS POINT..... MUCH APPRECIATE YOUR GUIDANCE.

I had forgotton this chatroom USES JAVA and usually java stuff works excellent for me :) (I find java stuff runs better than flash applets (Doesnt bog down as much))

Im in the chatroom now :)

Thanks for your support.....Though I need instructions and encouragment at the moment........I have yet to get a response from the member who posted IMHO rather vague instructions and failed to explain themselves as to exactly what I must do.....

I am still in search of simple, concise and accurate instructions.

It was tough enough removing the versions of JAVA installed on my machine and then begrudgingly re-installing the latest version. I use both Explorer and Mozilla and still fail to access the chat room.

I have not been able to get in chat since the latest Java update. Also, is chatting on a mobile device now for members only?

The mobile thing has *nothing* to do with being an AK subscriber or not. AddOnChat charges an extra fee to add that module to a room.

AK does not host or run the chat; they pay another provider to do it.

I ask because I have been chatting on a mobile device, as were other people, now it doesn't work on mobile. Sadly, since the last jave update, I also cant chat in the regular either.
