"constructive analysis" is impossible without having the woofer in hand to testCan someone give me some constructive analysis on the condition of this used woofer I found for sale.
I will admit that I am guilty of that from time to time. I usually do it when someone asks a question that can't be answered with the information given or if the answer can easily be found by doing a simple google searchPlease no condescending remarks as happens frequently on this forum.
if we all did that, you would get zero responsesIf you cant tell from the image, thats ok, just dont respond.
it would be nice to know why you are considering purchasing itIts for a JBL-L50.
you're welcomeThanks.
For sure the dust cap is wrong for that speaker. You should see the tinsel leads where they come though the cone near the edge of the voice coil, but the dust cap is too big and covers them.
Yeah, I knew some had the larger dust cap but when I went to edit the post, it just created the new post.127A had a roughly 4" dust cap.
The 127H-1 had a 3.2" cap with exposed leads- but the older 127A had the dust cap covering the leads.
Though it's not "bumpy"- I've seen quite a few 127A and 127H with smooth dust caps, back when they were new. That might be correct.

Gordon.
