Jbl 2405

Hello all. I need a little help . I purchased a set of jbl 2405 off ebay in Japan. Overall the drivers are great condition except where the mounting braket is screwed into the drivers (tweeters). The screws someone used are silver Phillips instead of the black flathead screws jbl used. My issue is how do test the drivers to see if everything is original. I heard the original diaphragms are blue?.

The reference to blue diaphragms is for the 077 tweeters. Normally found in JBL 300s and JBL L65 Jubals i think. They have a clear piece in the center of the tweeter and you can see the blue color in the diaphragms.
2405 has a black center piece. I can't think of the name of the center piece, but hopefully you get what I mean.
You can test the tweeters by hooking them up to an amp, and CAREFULLY raise the volume up until they either make sound, or they don't.

The original diaphragms in the 077s (consumer version) had a visible blue ring and clear lucite wedge but those in the 2405 are of a gold/brass tone with a black wedge. The wrong screws should be no big deal and easy to change.

Thanks jtee and Toddalin for your answer. Using the word testing was the wrong thing for me to say. I could have ohm it out or put a signal to the connection of the tweeter. I opened it up and the diaphragm are blue. What I got stuck on was the silver round head screws. Unfortunately people do funny things or they don't know what they're doing. When I buy vintage anything I am willing to pay a little extra to have it all in original condition and also have it in good shape.
