I have a lead on a pair of 4412. About 50 miles driving.
No price. I have seen them go from $199 low to $600+.
I do understand that they sound very good and way better than the 4408 (i have a pair of those), and some think much better than the 4311b.

I think realistically $200-250 is ok and anything below $200 is a good deal.

Any additional insight would be greatly appreciated, including additonal recommendation what to look for while auditioning.
Thanks in advance guys.

OK, the guys just added the price asking $550 "but it is negotiable". For that much, even tough they might be I'll others have them

I agree with your first post as to what would be a good deal, but considering what the far inferior 4311's bring, these are worth a bunch more since they're basically an upgrade/modernization of the 4411 and L112. I've paid $200/delivered for a pair of later 4412As (no wood veneer or L-pad) and they're fine speakers. Around $500 though you're getting into some other possibilities, even in JBLs. Not that you'll likely find any JBL 12" bookshelf units better for less money but depending on your room and equipment you can find L7s or L5s for less that you might enjoy even more.

I'd make the trip and have a listen. You never know how much the seller is willing to let them go for until someone shows up with cash-in-hand. And, of course, a lot depends on how much each $100 increment means to you, and if you're looking for keepers or flippers. :dunno:

I'd wait for a cheaper pair. I've had to pass on 2-3 semi local 4411/4412 deals because of lack of cash, for ALOT less than $500.

In fact a year or 2 ago I passed on a deal for 2 pairs of 4411's for for $300.
So patience is a virtue in this hobby. Something just as good or better is just around the corner for less, usually.

Well, I have many speakers, including a pair of ADS 980, TF 750, Alon Capri and Thiel cs 3.5. These would be an exchange for my JBL 4408 and I am more curious about them - most likely not to keep them for long. So as Johnny said, I will wait.
