Jbl 99s lancers refoam?

My l99 are old…looks like sorounds need refoaming. Can anyone recommend a quality
kit? I used a Brown Sound in Marin ages ago for another job but they’re now defunct. I’m in the Bay Area. If anyone can help me fix my lancers would be

Your pics didn't how up. Do these have the Lansaloy surrounds? If so, and if they're otherwise in good shape, DOT-3 brake fluid can possibly be used to restore them. Search this forum or Lansing heritage for brake fluid.

Refoam them! The brake fluid can seep into the cones and stain them. It's not permanent either. I think I used Speaker Works for my last JBL refoam. There are a couple of reputable suppliers out there. They aren't that difficult, make sure to pull off the thin rubber gaskets on the front of the frame. There are indentations on the frame, which help line things up.

Anything else to know before I dive in to change them? Is speaker exchange also a good place to get my materials? I see some foam packages at $30 some at $60 etc. do I also need the dust caps? I’m mechanically inclined but I don’t want f**k the speakers somehow..

They shouldn't be more than 30 bucks. Dust caps shouldn't be necessary.

Just repeating what I have read on AK ..... Some JBL surrounds are attached to the back of the cone. Look at your existing surrounds and note how they are attached. Good luck.
