JBL BL Olympus D50 S8R wx - fair price?

Hi,

A friend of mine just emailed me that he has a pair of JBL BL Olympus D50 S8R wx. 40” wide x 20” deep x 27” high. Huge! In good condition. He says, time to let them go. What's a fair price for a pair with all original parts?

Thanks in advance.

My thoughts? These sell for a pretty penny! Someone is selling a pair of restored JBL D50 S7R speakers on that big auction site for five figures

This is one of the biggest issues with Vintage JBL systems.
More than any other brand.
The precision built drivers are worth more than the
Giant lowboy speakers specifically the Olympus and Sovereigns.
They are just not suited for most modern domestic spaces .
Put that same S8r load in some fancy 20” wide towers, do some mods
To the Xovers, possibly change out the woofers,
and use a pair of lenses in front of the bullits
You would have quite a formidable speaker
I have the s8r Sovereigns, and I can’t sell them for less than a roached out pair of L-300’s
