I have a pair of 1962 JBL C49 Dale's with the S5 System (LE10, LE30 and LX3). They are all original, however the lans-a-loy surrounds on the LE10's are pretty stiff and starting to crack. I've read about the brake fluid treatment but I think I would prefer a proper restoration. The majority of foam surrounds I have found are grey. I am wondering if there are options that would better match the original off-white colour?

How are the LE30's? I have never seen a Good one in the Wild. All have the crushed aluminum domes.
Couldn't say how the White foams are. But the correct grey foams do work well, and will not decrease the Le10's
value, if done the right way. You probably should Recap the X-overs as well.

Thanks, it's good to know the grey foams won't decrease value... the system sounds nice but I'm a little hesitant to drive them hard because of the stiffness. I was planning on having the crossovers recapped as well.
 
I also have a pair of these C-49's,but mine have a round port on the other side of the LE-10.The LE-30's are almost perfect on them,nice bookshelf speakers.
 
Even the Ribbed Le10 cones are pretty scarce .
Do a good job on the Re-Foams:rockon:

Very nice rare original DALE C-49's. Have seen posts suggesting the cabinets are home made which is NOT true. Those are 100% original. I have a pair with the original brochure.
