JBL Crossover Advise

Hi, I have a friend that has taken on a jbl custom speaker project. He is in need of buying some crossovers and would want to talk with a person there to assist him. Does anyone have a recommendation of a company he can contact. He tried jbl and did not have any luck.

It really depends on what combination of drivers he is planning to use.
Most folks building JBL custom speakers try to mimick a driver combination that has been used with success by JBL in the past.
I have no specifics otherwise.

its jbl 4505 cabs that someone in the past added a 077 slot tweeter. evidently the way they are wired is less than desirable.

Madisound can build custom crossovers. But I'm not sure if that requires using Madisound supplied drivers or not?

Also, Danny Richie, of GR Research, will build custom crossovers for any speaker. But, he'd need at least one speaker for testing. I believe he's currently offering free testing for the month of June, and offers several quality and price levels to choose from, for the finished crossovers. He'll even supply the parts and schematics, so you can build it yourself, if desired? Danny is a top-notch speaker designer, and very good at crossover design. Its worth looking into.
