JBL L-36's..

I have a line on a set of L-36's, the woofers need new surrounds, something I can probably handle doing myself..The speakers seem to be in good shape otherwise, both in function and looks. And there's a return option as well.

What's a good price for a set of these in this condition?

One sold comp on eBay for a pair with new surrounds. $549 plus ship. They looked to be in pretty decent shape.
Offer something less than that taking into account your time and materials for new surrounds.

They're on ebay, and the current bid is around $250.00 I think, the auction ends today at 4:00-ish.

I'm going to pass myself, the shipping on these is only $99.00 (red flag there!). And I read a LOT of negative feedback, mainly complaining about items broken in shipping because they were very badly packed.

I would love to bid on them, could be a real steal, but I don't want to buy something nice that stands a big chance of getting trashed enroute to me.

But I thought I would mention them here though, they're apparently at a Goodwill in the San Jose area, and someone who could pick them up locally might get a killer deal!

They state in the listing that the speakers provide “optimal sound”. Very poor choice of wording. That opens the door for free returns.

FWIW, it's been mentioned here that the L-36 offer better overall sound than the L100.

I paid $35 for mine maybe 15 years ago. I had to do a refoam and found it very easy to do. They are a wonderful set of speakers.

They are nice. I've had two pairs. Although I think I liked the L-26 better.
