JBL L100 L88 Plus grill compatibility?

I have a set of JBL L88 Plus, and need grill frames/grills.
Has anyone tried to see if the L88 Plus and L100 grills are a direct fit for each other? Don't know if the pegs are in the exact same locations.
Maybe someone has tried or knows?

Thanks!

I own a pair of L88P's that I converted to L100's. I don't remember when I checked (it was a long time ago) but the pins on the baffle are NOT in the same location. The grille frames do appear to be identical so it's possible to drill new holes on the back of the grills.

Thank you!

I wonder why they (JBL) did this? I also had a pair of 88 plus 12s converted to L100s, and thought the grills might interchange since the cabinets are the same size. Must have been a marketing decision.

Now locating the new hole positions accurately is going to be a challenge.

I guess JBL didn't want customers with "lower cost" speakers upgrading to their top of the line model. I put orange waffle grilles on a pair of 4311B's. Easier to do because you could use tiny wooden blocks and Velcro inside the speaker front baffle for mounting. I actually liked the depressed woofer circle on the L88P foam. That was the era when JBL industrial design was really unique and avante garde.
