JBL L100T and 4 ohm tap

According to the technical sheet, the JBL L100T has a nominal impedance of 8 ohm, and a minimum of 6 ohm.

I'm currently running the JBL L100T with T3 crossovers hooked to a McIntosh MC402 8 ohm tap. There are also options for 4 ohm and 2 ohm taps.

Should I run it on which tap? Will I benefit from 4 ohm? Will I damage anything?

I would put it on 8. The Mac can probably deal with 6ohms every once in a while on the 8 tap.

8 ohm is correct. The Mc can swing best voltage at that tap.

that would be ok if your speakers are bi-amped or have separate connections coming out for each driver and/or their part of the crossover. By moving up or down the taps, you change the voltage output, in effect, doing a bit of volume shelving via the autotransformers instead of any control on the speakers or in the preamp tone controls. But its sort of relatively heavy handed way to "tune" a speaker to its playing environment, results in 3 db change, and may still need finer adjustment afterwards.
