JBL L100T3 woofers

hi all, just picked up a pair of jbl l100t3 with no woofers, i believe the original replacement is a 2214h, these seem a little difficult to find, does anyone recommend another jbl replacement that is similar in specification that would suit? any advice welcome, thanks!

You're correct..2214 and it's a beast. I had L100t3's and that was my favorite thing about those speakers. I'm not saying a suitable replacement doesn't exist, but I wouldn't be surprised if JBL designed that entire speaker around that woofer. The Ti tweeter is nice and the mid range pretty good, but that woofer is the heart of the design, IMO.

Be patient and get the right woofer - the 2214H is a spectacular woofer, its what made the L100T and L100T3
speakers better than their parts, and using anything less won't be worthy, it will just be a hack job.
(I've had 2 pairs of them over time and redone surrounds on a few pairs more)

These pop up on eBay quite frequently, as many people (sadly, but understandably) decide to part out L100T and T3 speakers due to the size (= huge shipping cost). There's an ad on there right now for a single woofer needing refoam. Just be patient, and get the right replacements. These speakers are well worth it, my L100T pair are among my most favorite things, and get used daily.
 
Get the originals.
You'll probably pay many times what you paid for the speakers as it is for the woofers.
Very nice speakers.
 
I agree with the others that getting real 2214H woofers is your best bet.

But something to think about are the other JBL configs that used similar woofers. My JBL 4412 monitors use the same 035Ti and 104H-2 as the L100T but use a 128H-1 woofer instead. L100T is a bigger cabinet, and the crossover isn't the same, but at least there is some precedent for putting other woofers like the 128H in a configuration with the drivers that you have available.

There was a thread on here a while ago where someone had taken a pair of L150 speakers, and swapped the 128H woofers in there for a pair of 2214H, so in that case they were interchangeable on at least a functional level. I've never personally swapped a 128H and 2214H despite having speakers that use both.
 
Another option would be to part out the tweeters, midrange and crossovers and buy some complete speakers with the profit.
 
thanks all for the replies I'll hang out for the original drivers hopefully I've sourced a set so excited to hear the whole package working properly!
