Hello everybody,
a pair of old JBL L220 made it to my place a couple days ago, they used to belong to the dad of a friend of mine, I finally hit and got them, not it's about restoration.
They seem to work, I mean, they sound but caps have some gaps, foam for the passive radiators have to be redone, still have to pull the crossovers out to figure and the most ugly thing being the ex owner had given them a lick of transparent varnish on the cabinet and black one on the front, so so so ugly, I deeply hate it so, if I menage to make them work again as they should, I'd also like to revert the paint job and the cabinet back to original.
I contacted Simply Speakers for the refoaming kit and gonna probably order them beginning next week, in the meantime I'd like to know which steps should I follow to figure how to work them out, what should I check onto the crossovers (I just own a simple multimeter) and so on.
