A similar pair at a similar price languished on Boston CL for many months. The price may be fair, but getting people (especially the kind of people who frequent CL) to pony up $1k+ for a pair of old speakers is tough.

I had a pair of the "Discos" and L220 Oracle, basically the same speaker. I felt the mid-range was the weak point of this speaker. The LE-5 of some ilk, just couldn't keep up with the LE14 woofer with passive and the 076 tweeter. You got bright highs and thumping lows with little mid-range. I ended up tweaking the crossovers and replacing the L-pads on the 222's, still wasn't happy. Replaced them with the 250ti's which were/are in another league!:yes: Unfortunately, they went when I got married.:tears: They are a beautiful and impressive looking speaker just too much $$$ for what you get IMHO. Just my two schillings.
