JBL L65A v/s Jubal Wattage difference

I see many threads about the differences between the original jubal and the upgraded l65a, but looking at the harmon PDF files, it seems that the L65A is 200 watts and the older Jubal is only 75 watts. Can anyone clarify this?

Well, for starters, one is "maximum recommended amplifier power" and the other is "power capacity . . . continuous program". It is well-known and suggested in JBL's own bulletins that recommended amplification power is normally twice the suggested maximum power-handling capability of the speaker system, for increased headroom. That would at least nominally cut the difference to 150 vs. 200. It may also indicate that the 122A woofer can handle a bit more power than the 126A, but that's a guess.

Seems that over time the way of stating the power-capability spec changed just as did the sensitivity where one is measured at one-meter and the other at 15-feet.
