JBL LE5-8 Loose rivet, repair?

Hi guys,

I have a problem with a JBL LE5-8.
One of the rivets holding the magnet has come loose.
When I was cleaning the speaker, I noticed that part of the rivet was sticking out a bit, but when I looked at it more closely, I saw that it had come loose completely.

Here are two pictures:

What is your opinion on this, how would you repair it?
What material are the rivets made of, they are not magnetic.

The magnet is also glued on, so replacing that rivet is not mandatory.

If you want to replace it- I would think a brass or aluminum screw and nut, sized to fit through the original hole, should suffice. Just use some superglue or thread locker when you put it in.

A nut/bolt will require access to the other side. I can't tell from the pics if that is possible. If so, brass would do just fine and probably easier to find at a hardware store. I've seen some aluminum bolts/screws but they were always a specialty item like a kit to replace all the steel screws holding bodywork on a motorcycle.

Pop rivets are aluminum and come in a variety of sizes of diameter and "reach".
 
Okay, I didn't know that the magnet was also glued, everything felt stable.

There is enough space for a nut on the other side.
I had also thought about an aluminum screw and nut,
I'll see if I can make a suitable part from aluminum or brass on the lathe.

I just wanted to ask, not that some materials can cause interference with the magnet.
 
It seems odd to me that it is both glued and riveted but it sounds like you've got this covered.

I am envious of the lathe!! Have fun.

I think I know how I can do it.

It's a very small lathe with a center distance of only 300 millimeters, but it's great for small hobby jobs.
