Yeah, hard to say how much cheaper they could get, really, but in need of surrounds sort of zeroes them out, truth be told. Or makes them for-parts. :thumbsdn:
I paid $25 for a perfect pair of LX22s (2-ways) off CL recently because they were nearby. They sound okay. More recently I paid $50 for a pair of L80Ts needing surrounds and oil. Much more satisfying deal. Best I can tell, the Lx series is veneered in plastic, not wood. makes them fairly indestructible but nothing warm or fuzzy about polishing your plastic cabinets! Heck, even the JBL emblem is plastic on these! I'm sure my LXs will get used by my kids at some time. Or the tweeters will go to someone who needs them.
