JBL METREGON - For big bidders only

Out of curiosity I've been following this auction for a while. I figured the pickup-only requirement, in the middle of nowhere, might keep prices down. Its nice to see some vintage gear going for big $$$. Most people would consider this to be nothing more than a well made but hopelessly outdated piece of furniture.

That price still seems on the low side to me, especially considering it still has the amplifier on board.

Consider it's the little brother to the Paragon, which a few years ago would command up to 20K or better for minty examples.:yes:

There's lots of surprises like that in these parts, there's always been a lot of extravagant "part time" homes in this area since the turn of the century.

A lotta folks who enjoyed exceptionally gainful employment in the NYC area, chose to maintain their main residences up in this area and commute either weekly or seasonally between here and an inner city apartment.

You should see what those folks will put out to the curb during spring cleaning.

I was unaware that that was a rare event....

Pretty cheap for a Metro I'd say, but I assume it will double by closing time.

Yeah, its neat, but - its a Metregon, not a Minigon or Paragon. The Paragon's are really the cool gear. No longer audiophile, of course, but very cool looking gear - very 50s Modern styling ... the lesser models are lesser models - possibly more affordable and even less audiophile

the guy selling it must have had no idea what he was selling, the bidding started at $100!!! A pair of advents in a 'good' (not mint, just good) condition can go for more as that!
