I like how they dress it up with glass sculptures in the pics. The phrase "lipstick on a pig" seems to be relevant here.


Cool piece for sure but the artist responsible for the color change needs to be jailed




Makes you think what finish is hiding beneath. They had the same options as the Paragon so it could be walnut or Ebony.

I've refinished plenty of white painted furniture in my lifetime and as long as they didn't strip the old finish before the white coat, it wouldn't be that hard to bring back to original. It still would be a painstakingly long and delicate process but worth the effort.

That piece was discussed on the LH site, it appears to be a copy made from plans (or at least replacement legs and back panels) as opposed to a JBL produced unit.

Seems like the JBL produced units had the crossovers mounted more towards the center of the enclosure, but the plans for DIY models showed them more outboard.
 
A weird finish choice for sure, it would be more off-putting if it was a real factory produced Metregon but its clearly not. The diameter of the legs is too large, the rear legs should to be mounted to the sides, not underneath. The spacing of the front slats is wrong, and the slats are glued to a board at the top an bottom, unlike the real thing where each slat is individually removable and held in place by cloth padding at the top. Also the rear access panels are too wide, they should not extend all the way to the middle of the cabinet.
