JBL N38 Speakers - Difference Between Northridge and Studio Series

Hi, I am a newcomer in this forum and this is my first thread.
Here is my question. I have come across two types of JBL N38 speakers. Some have Northridge Series written on their data stickers on he back and some have Studio Series written on them. Is there a difference between those two speaker models. Or are they exactly the same speakers with different stickers? I have the one with Studio Series written on it and I couldn't find any info on this difference. So anybody can please enlighten me?

I wondered that myself when the Northridge and Studio series came out.

They were both stocked by the retailer I was with at the time and one of them was quite a bit more expensive than the other. I'm fairly sure it was Studio's with the higher price tag. There was no printed matter outlining the differences but speculation among my co-workers was there was little separating the two. But I seem to remember seeing a figure for shipping weights and one was markedly heavier. Whether that was cabinet related, heavier drivers or both, I cannot say. I do know that neither was a particularly good seller. I never considered them "real JBL's" so never paid them much attention.

Since I was unable to see information on them way back when, I too would be interested in finally learning what actual differences there are.
