IT'S ME, IT'S ME...IT'S..
I just picked up a nice pair of JBL Lancer s99. I really love these speakers. Now I have a chance at a Pair of JBL L100....I would have to sell the Lancers to buy the 100s....what do you think? Both are in great shape. No way I can get afford to keep both...let me know your opinion

If the surrounds haven't been taken care of on the 99's that's something that will eventually need attention. The 100's won't require any attention like the 99's.

The 99's sure look cool (from online images). Any pics?
 
I have done the brake fluid treatment on the surrounds, and it make a HUGE difference.

You can buy L100's any day of the week. If you hunt you can even find a good deal. I would stick with what you have and enjoy the experience for a little while. The L100s are a fine speaker - with strengths and weaknesses. They are not the ultimate speaker, though, and you will eventually seek better alternatives.

Pace yourself and enjoy the moment.
 
Thanks for the input, I do like the 99's. I will invest in a new set of surrounds and give them a listen. I do enjoy them now...So I will keep them for a little longer.

Follow up after the surrounds. I'm eyeing a pair and would like to know more after you've listened to them more.
 
The L100 can quickly be resold when you tire of them. My vote is to upgrade from your S99. I found a pair of S99 at a thrift but I was unimpressed with the tweeters. That same week I found a pair of L112s so my upgrade path was an easy one.

If you don't have any qualms about hacking up a classic JBL, you could use the LE14 in an econo-wave. Zilch had qualms about using large drivers in the E-wave but it could be done with very good results.
