It's a little surprising in this day and age that they aren't mirror imaged.

As I was listening, I re-read this thread and I was struck by how many AK'ers were/are hung up on the price of these Classics. The current price is around $2600 each (for the BE version). Seems like a lot to some (who love to brag about their latest SCROE at garage sales, flea markets or estate sales), but trust me, in the current audio world, it really, really isn't.

The irony here is that $5k for these speakers is more of a SCROE than the cheapskate garage sale shoppers could dream of, using price/performance ratio as a guide.

These l100 classics are very impressive and $5k is a steal.

The garage sale shoppers complaining about cost may never know what a good sounding speaker actually sounds like.

Could be. However, it is supposed to be an updated design. JBL has offered mirror imaged speakers since the late '70s/early '80s. It's just a niggle at any rate.

Ever hear of someone using technical terms such as "price/performance ratio" to try to sound like they know what they are talking about?

I would agree with this considering that those who "scroe" audio gear generally stack them in a pile with their other "scroes" and never fully appreciate what they have.

On the other hand, some one who drops 5K on a set of speakers, will more than likely set them up properly and drive them with quality electronics, which is money well spent.

I've got them powered by the Sony TA-N77ES & E77ES combo, through Audioquest Rocket 33 cables. The CD player is the CDP-XA7ES.
