JBL Speaker Project

I have a pair of 12” 3 way JBL LC312’s (lower end JBL's from the mid 90's) that need woofers but the mid’s and tweeters seem decent. They are floor standing speakers (36.25Hx14.25Wx10.25D) with nice wood cabinets with a crossover frequency of 1 kHz/5.5kHz. I am looking at replacing the woofers with Eminence Beta 12’s. I may upgrade the mid’s/tweeters later when money allows it. Also the cabinets do not have any insulation at all so while I am in there I going to add damping material. Anyone have any comments on the Eminence Beta speaker?
