JBL Speaker Repair?

Hi all,

First time poster, long time lurker. I recently purchased a U Turn Orbit turntable and I'm in the process of getting my setup in order. I have a pair of JBL N28 speakers that were given to me by my father. The only problem is that one of the speakers bindings have broken off. The other speaker is fine and produces sound, but I can't get anything out of the other one. Is there a possible fix for this? I know these aren't the world's best speakers, but they have sentimental value to me since they were my father's. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can remove the plate and get new binding posts from Partsexpress online, shouldn't be too hard to do the job.

Thanks for replies guys. I opened the speaker up and took some photos. It looks like the terminals that the bindings attach to might have broken off? What's my next best step here? Thanks again.

Well, that's exactly what's happened. I recently repaired a speaker with the same problem. My daughter's cat had knocked over a small Mission speaker and broke one of the binding posts. I repaired it with one of these I had on hand from an order from Amazon where they were 10 for $10.

Just picked up a pair of these at GW for cheap. One tweeter was blown. If you need another part let me know. Sound wasn't to bad. Matched em against Dynacos, not fair.
