JBL Studio 230 Speakers

Does anyone have an opinion on how these 230s compare to the JBL L15? I have L15s - just curious. Thanks.

Now they’re $399.95 . . . still showing them as “manufacturer refurbished.” Ridiculous price swing.

I'd love to know if any other AKers pulled the trigger at $159.99 like I did. Hopefully they'll chime in.
I ordered mine last weekend and they got here Thursday! 159.99 shipped. Arrived in perfect condition and when I pulled them out of the box they were flawless...not bad for refurbished! Can't wait to hook them up at the lake house...I'm sure they will sound great. DG

Considering that you can buy the LSR305s direct from JBL for the same price as the Studio 230s were on-sale, with free shipping and four amps included, has anyone had the opportunity to compare the two? I think I paid $225 for my pair and many paid $198 for the red ones. I couldn't be more impressed with the LSR305s, and I have a dozen other (small) JBLs to compare them to, including the two-way LX22s, L1, L20T, Pro-III Plus, etc., but no Studio 230s.
I'd still like to hear from someone who has heard the Studio 230 and the LSR305 and would be able to compare them. Anyone? Thanks in advance.

Saw them on the bay for $149 again (JBL refurb'ed) a few days ago and didn't buy. Somebody got 'em. Have the 530s and that's all I listen to, the 230's look very good too.

They are level upon levels better than those.....a sweet deal from Parts express is the Dayton Audio mk442 at 50 bucks a piece and 1 of the Dayton Subs **** or even 2. The mk442 is budget speaker of the year in Audioholics they play pretty low with their underhung voicecoils even with 4 inch woofers but it's a MTM so there are 2. The mk series is the series to get from Dayton Audio they just came out with a tower that's a transmissionline design for $227 bucks a pair...

you like the mk442 same or better than jbl 230?
