JBLs with 10" Woofers L26, L50, L110

Good luck with your search. Maybe I'll bump into a pair of L96s or L80T(3)s one day, but until then I know what makes me happy and I'm good with what I have. If the L110s are built around a mid-bass as you say, then I'm happy with a mid-bass that goes down to 35Hz and see no need for a sub-woofer.

Browsing the junk shops and estate sales looking for old speakers and rehabbing them is a hobby for me. I enjoy doing it, and I enjoy listening to the finished product. I just wanted to share some info with the people here interested in helping each other.

Likewise, and the 110s are a nice set of speakers. I ran many sets without a sub as well, I don’t use subs at all.

As @GordonW stated, the L110 uses the LE111 woofer.

here's a quote from @Robh3606 at the Lansing Heritage website:

".......What you have are two very different drivers. The Le111 is a woofer the 2121 a mid bass driver. To compare them you can look at the T/S table in the reference section of the Library. At a first glance the FS are different as well as the moving mass and sensitivity. The Le111 looks like a 2122 because the aguaplas is on the back side of the cone. Looking at the two the Le111 has twice the moving mass and a significant drop in sensitivity......"

It is, I thumb threw it often, I have a few vintage JBL T-shirts as well that my wife has picked up over the years. I use to have a few match books or boxes that came from the original JBL Factory but for the life of me i have no idea where they are, a fellow member years ago gifted them to me. They are in a black and gold box with the JBL Icon on them in Gold. I cant even find pictures of them on google, we moved into a new house a few years back and they are boxed up somewhere, ill find them one day, when I do ill be a happy camper lol

@clang444 , here's another thread from Lansing Heritage forum with some good info on the L110.

I actually have two pairs of L110, one in my main listening room and another pair waiting to be restored.

I just wanted to cap off this thread with a note that the member that insisted L16s are better speakers than L110s has been banned from this site. I hope everyone saw through his ridiculous posts on this thread, I didn't believe a thing he posted. I played along hoping he would stop doubling down on his claims, but he held through to the end.

L110s do not use mid-bass drivers instead of woofers. They sound awesome. So do the L50s and L26s.

My 2 cents. The little 4301b { L19 } are the best 8 inch two ways that have came through my place. Super sweet and balanced with surprising bass. All in all they give my L36's a run for the money. Both have been pro restored in last 3 years.
