Jennings Research Contrara Pedestals crossover help....

I know this is a real longshot. I am trying to restore a pair of Jennings Research Contrara Pedestals (two 8" Audax woofers and one Peerless tweeter per cabinet), and am having crossover problems on one of the speakers. I am going to do some exotic veneer work on the cabinets, but obviously want to get them functioning properly before doing so. Anyone have the crossover schematic, or other suggestions?

I have the smaller book shelf model, one 8 inch woofer and one tweeter. What exactly is the problem? can't you just replicate the caps and what not ?

yes, a two-way speaker ought to be simple enough to replicate once you read the original cap values from the crossover.

I have no sound out of the tweeter from one of the speakers. I switched the tweeters just to make sure it is not the tweeter itself, and it worked just fine in the other speaker

Crossovers done on these, and they really do sound amazing. A very well rounded, precise sound, and the Peerless tweeters really make them.


Crossovers and new grill cloth done, now just a little cosmetic restoration (few chips in the veneer arouns the edges) and they will be ready to go. :thmbsp:
