Anyone has a short review of these vintage Jensen 12" triaxial speakers? Notice that the cabinets shown in the photos attached are custom made. I'm in the lookout for some big vintage speakers.

I only see two drivers on-axis, isn't this a co-axial speaker?
I had the Heathkit version of Jensen SG-300 tri-axials, which were fantastic but the bass was hampered by the small cabinets I had them in. Those cabinets look much bigger than mine - so probably better in the bass department. Great for jazz. May need a re-cap which will involve taking the cap off the magnet in the back which I believe is hard / impossible to do without damaging it.
That said ... If you're looking for "big" vintage speakers, I'm not sure what "big" means, but these aren't going to pack the punch of a big JBL, Polk, Tannoy, or Infinity, I don't think.

Yes it's a triax, the woofer has two voice coils, one for mid and one for bass.
I have a pair that Dad bought new way back when. They do need a fairly large ported cabinet. I have a data sheet with suggested cabinet and port sizes, but I also have T/S params measured with Woofer Tester 3.
I recapped mine and that's correct about removing the rear bell - there is a thick foil label glued onto the back over the screw and it's very difficult to remove without wrinkling it up. The glue did not respond to heat.
I found that the highs were still muted after recapping and I suspect the phenolic tweeter diaphragm has aged. As far as I know there are no replacement diaphragms but I have not done a search using the actual measurements to see if something else would fit.
Excellent woofer - Fs is 25 Hz so it can get pretty low in the right cabinet!
They go for big bucks to Asia.
