I just picked up a set of very large cabinets at a yard sale. These happened to be loaded with jensen triaxial 15" drivers. The gold magnet cover reads "Jensen triaxial 3 way super high fidelity". They have a large, gold, rounded magnet cover and a brown basket. I looked all over the entire speaker but I am unable to find a model number. None of the printing on the cone seems to match up to anything I can find on the internet. They look similar to g610's, but the g610's that I see have a blue basket and the magnet cover is polished, not painted and texturized. I can't find any pictures of a 610a or 610b. The plug that connects the large brown crossover looks the same as the one for the 610. I believe the crossover is an A 940. I am unable to find anything about this either. The crossover has eight connections, one set for input and 3 outputs that go to volume pots that adjust mid frequency and high frequency. On the inside of the cone is printed "8015D02 HO2

The g610 sells for a very large sum. I am wondering if I just came across the deal of a lifetime or not...$30.00 with perfect cabinets. I am sure that they are worth more than this, but are these the ones that are worth a few thousand?

Please help me identify these.

Firstly, welcome to the MADNESS! Secondly, DAMN! You have got to be kidding me ? Right now I have two "windows" open...AK and Ebay vintage speakers. As I write this, I am looking for a pair of JENSEN Tri-axials (perhaps others) to fit into my most recent find :
"THE HOLY" Cabinets (see SPEAKER page/search THE HOLY Cabinets for story). Man, I also would LOVE to see the pixs of these 15" JENSEN's and pixs of the Cabinets. My Cabinets once housed a single JENSEN G 600's
15" Tri-axials in each Cabinet. I bought the Cabinets without the drivers.
Oooh tc, what are the measurements of your Cabinets ? Are they CORNER Horns ?
(THE HOLY Cabinets are Corner Horns). Man, what a FANTASTIC find! Good for you tc! Now, do you own a TUBE amp ? Oooh, tc, should you ever decide to sell the JENSENS.....

I think you got a fair deal if you like them. If not, you aren't hurt too bad.. or did you buy them to re-sell them?

I'll be there! I'm just glad he planned it for the 23rd, if it was the 24th I would have a tough choice to make... My inlaws 50th anniversary party is that day, and as much as I can't stand my wife, I love my inlaws, and wouldn't want to miss it!

They are not corner horns, I only wish. I do own a tube amp, a very small knight audio that works great with my computer. I'll get my pictures posted soon so that I will be able to identify these. For now, I am going to listen to them closely to decide if they sound better than my heresy II's, and decide if they are worth the cost.

Sorry, not 610a's, they look exactly like the g-600's in the 1956 manual at hifilit.com. Are these the expensive ones? I have looked over these and am still unable to find any model number or date codes listed.
 
 
Around the perimeter of the frame, backside, is there any printing?

Where the gasket would be if front (outside of the baffle) mounted?
 
 
no clmrt, there is no writing there at all. I have looked all over these things very closely and I am unable to find any writing except what I left pictures of...sorry about the bad link, wasn't exactly sure how to post pictures to the forum. I think the ones I have up now should work fine.
