John Hurt, Star Of "The Elephant Man" has Died

[StimpyWan]

2017 seems to be continuing the sad tradition of 2016, of too many celebrity deaths. Now, John Hurt has died. A fantastic actor. Alien wouldn't have been the same without him. R.I.P.

posted my sentiments in another thread, but I'll repeat.

John Hurt portrayed both "Winston" from "1984" AND the Chancellor in "V For Vendetta"

RIP.

Great performances - Elephant Man is a movie that has stayed with me since seeing it long ago.

One of my favorite actors. He was amazing as Caligula in "I, Claudius"...

Rest in peace John Hurt...

Another good one was as the doctor in Frankenstein Unbound ...

He also won an oscar for best actor 1986 playing a gay prisoner in Kiss of the Spiderwoman.

One of my favorite John Hurt characters. Maybe Hellboy 3 will finally move forward.

[sKiZo]

He certainly did have fun selecting roles. Here's one of his lesser known efforts ...

Sir John was also fantastic as Quentin Crisp in the '75 film based on Crisp's biography, "The Naked Civil Servant"

RIP Mr. Hurt

To countless Young people he was:

Garrick Ollivander Wand seller Harry Potter, and The Philosopher's stone.

[MaxxVolume]

First became aware of him in his earlier BBC works like "The Naked Civil Servant", and "I Claudius".
Another great talent is gone....travel well, Mr. Hurt....

I believe that was William Hurt.

RIP John.

Hurt's varied abilities and roles seemed to suit so many varied tastes out there. He was truly a man of all seasons and lived it through his many characterizations.

Another loss to the arts.
