John Mayall

Nothing new- just wanted to brag about going to see John Mayall next Sat. at the Bass Pro Shops parking lot. He was the first band I ever saw in concert back in 1970 at the Hollywood Paladium. The opening act was Elvin Bishop, whom I had never heard of. Got to see him last year again at the Eureka Springs Blues Festival, and got to meet him after the show. Anyhoo, can't wait for next Saturday! :smoke:

Enjoy the show. He went from playing the Hollywood Paladium, to playing Parking Lots outside of sporting goods shops? And this guy was quite popular once upon a time.

Saw him a few months ago. Played mostly stuff from the Blues from Laurel Canyon album. He still has it all going on and it is too bad the younger generations never picked up on this legend.
Bishop in 1970 was awesome before he got in his yee haw period. ;)
Have fun!

Yeah, it's not quite as cheesy as it sounds- it's part of what they call the Greater Ozark Blues Festival, and I think they're probably still looking for a permanent venue to hold it. Not too many places in Springfield MO for concerts; there is a few larger nightclubs where they get top name people ie. Willie, a lot of 70s bands, etc. etc. :smoke:
