Sometimes you just can't beat the sound of a good tenor! Joseph Calleja is going to appear on the BBC Last Night of the Proms, this Saturday - if you can get to view that, you'll be in for a treat - particularly with violinist Nicola Benedetti doing-the-gig also!

Hehehehe....I remember seeing, as a kid, Jerry Lewis doing an impression of Lanza singing "Be My Love"...It was HYSTERICAL !!

Yes, it's dead easy to mock what went before us [I have a 'PHD-squared' in it]. Here's a look at the [fabulous] subject of the above referenced tribute and more than a hint of why it would be such an easy target, as time went by: Mario Lanza and Kathryn Grayson.

Thing of it is, I later came to really like & respect Lanza...He DIDN'T have an easy go of it...Especially towards the last.

Sandy_G, I had to refesh my memory, just now - having done so, I agree 100%!

I'm definitely gonna check out that 'Proms' thing on Saturday [OP], Joseph Calleja says that he was inspired to becoming an opera singer, when he saw an old Mario Lanza movie on TV!
