Juicy Lucy contest

specialidiot

Break Glass, Smoke Lucky
Hi, here in MN we have our own version of the hamburger called the Juicy Lucy. It's basically two patties with cheese sealed inside, and the local eateries around here have taken it to an art form.

The Food Network's show called "Diners, Dives, and Drive Ins" did a story on a nearby establishment called the Blue Door, and oh, there stuff is good. Also nearby me are the Shamrock and the Nook.

Anyway, my friend Megan and her husband Chris have submitted their Juicy Lucy recipie for Burger of the Month and I ask that each of my AK friends vote at least once (you can vote every day) for the Uff Da Blucy.

BTW, Megan is a former Miss Minnesota and an associate pastor at my church!

Please vote for the Uff Da at the Blue Door site at http://thebdp.com/

Oh sure ya betcha! This Blucy is just a ham! In celebration of our great state’s OTHER favorite dish, we dress this Blucy up with all the fixins’ of a tater tot hotdish that would make Lena proud and Ole drool. It’s downright tootin’ dontcha know…oh fir cute!

OK then, 486 votes now for Uff-da. That Buffalo version sounds kinda good too though. :scratch2: :D

Stop on by, we'll drive over. Keep in mind there is usually a line around the corner of that place, even in the winter!

Can you just mail mine, by that really fast mail, that only takes like 20 minutes to get here? Don't worry, I'll just nuke it, if it has time to get cold. :D

Uff-da, dat was tough on te old finger.

Swen was standing on the street corner one day when Ole drove up in a new car. Swen asked, "Ole, where did you get the new car?" Ole answered, "I was out parking in the toolies with Lena, and she took off all her clothes and told me I could have whatever I wanted - so I took the car." Swen answered, "Well I think you made a wise choice, the clothes probably wouldn't have fit you anyway."

I've been making my cheeseburgers like that for years ---sometimes I put an onion with the cheese.

Ah, man...sorry mate to have missed out on the voting. You know what's sad, I lived in MN for 4 years and never, until watching the Food Network, heard of a Juicy Lucy...musta been under a rock the whole time. Congrats on their win though.

The arty burger joint. One food craze I wish would go away.

I did vote, just because you asked nicely.

Thanks Gary. I actually haven't been to TBD since it was new but I recall it as being more gritty than arty. Maybe a bit on the hipster side but they have good beer.

However I am looking forward to a "west side burger" at the Cherokee tonight. Pepper jack, guacamole and fresh jalapeños.
