Jumping right in! Hello (from Atlanta) and quick question

I decided to jump right in on the vintage audio equipment and made a “deal” at an estate sale this weekend. After a lot of mold clean up and deoxit, it all works! I’m already loving everything - including the mistakes I’m making along the way.

My first set up includes:
Sansui QRX 5001
AT LPGO (purchased from Walmart while I wait for the U-Turn custom w/Ortofon 2m and also hoping to find some vintage along the way)
Sankyo STD-1610 Tape Deck
Sony sscs 5 speakers (pair for rears)
1 Pioneer CS-99a
1 sansui Sp-1700

I also got a lot of the original operating instructions, warranties and even shipping slips from the original owner - who bought some of this stuff while serving in Vietnam! Pretty crazy stuff.

I would love to find single speakers to make pairs, especially for the CS-99a. Besides patience - any advice? I’ll continue searching, but was too excited to not get active. Thanks!

Wow that’s awesome! I had been searching for a single cabinet deck, similar to the one I grew up with (my dad still has that pioneer set up from the 80s). I saw this dual cabinet at Goodwill for $25. My wife said it was too big for my office/listening room, so I passed on it at first. Couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I went back the following day and it’s now for my garage/basement set up! I was pleasantly surprised to see the made in Denmark stamp on the bottom of it. Very happy I was able to pick it up!
 
Welcome to AK! Nice setup you've found...I had a Sankyo STD-1410 (little bro to yours) nearly 50 years ago...it's gone...but tapes I made on it still play fine!

That’s awesome! I definitely will be looking into getting some tapes and messing around with this. It’s a little challenging, but fun to figure out how the 4-channels work and what this “unlocks”
