Just a couple watts ya reckon

Well Boys and Girls..Changing out these filter caps is one major PITA.You have to split the amp in half to get them out. Hope I remember where all the screws go..:D

The new caps are just a tad shorter.Guess I'll prop them up with a little sponge rubber stock.

damn, that's a lot of work for something so simple. good thinking with the sponge, though - i bet that will catch on with all the tweakers seeking to minimize vibrations ;) the Vishays arrive today and will probably need an even bigger booster seat.
 
Yep.Got them earlier this afternoon.Just before I had to leave for work.And they are about 3/8" shorter..No problem...:D
 
After getting all the minor issues squared away.I hooked this "bad boy" up to a 4 ohm DL.......:smoke: Can you believe, before clipping, 892.26 watts per channel @ 4 ohm/1 khz.:yes: Made a pot of coffee on the DL as well..:D Good to the last drop..:D

:jawdrop: 900 WPC! Need a 20 amp dedicated circuit for this bad boy? :D
 
yowzas! to run with both channels at 4-ohm clipping, i'd be looking at a 30A circuit (assuming 50% efficiency)! fortunately, i don't think there are many speakers that can handle 900Wpc continuously.

Actually the load didn't really get that hot.Wasn't sustained at max power that long..Maybe 45 seconds.Just long enough to adjust the voltage cursor on the o'scope for peak voltage. That and major overkill on the dummy load..
