Has anyone here ever built around the 805 http://www.nj7p.org/Tube4.php?tube=805

I just now found a sack of them along with some 8008 5000v 1/2 wave rectifiers. They apprently came with a tube buy out of a music store last year, so I'm wondering if someone was putting something together for an amp. I was thinking they may be good for bass duty?:scratch2:

That would be a waste of them. Some consider the 805 one of the top DHT's for SE use. Are these American 805's or Chinese?

I think CaryAudio uses them in their big SET amp. Could be good stuff there.

Looks like they'd need grid current for non class-B use. A class A2 SE or A2/AB2 PP would be neat.

They are GEs and RCAs. I just looked at the epay prices, so they may end up going away.
