Compact 2-chassis ß22 / σ22 2-board amp with built in DAC (note: Genuine AMB / Glass Audio parts - not cheap copies)
This is a 2-board design (not a 3-board "active ground" layout.) 2-board configurations have the lowest distortion and noise of any Beta-22 configurations.
The sound is GREAT. Plenty of power for planar headphones, including HiFiMan HE-6. (Can also drive AKG K1000)
DAC is Curryman - ES9023 DAC with discrete FET output buffers ( https://www.minidsp.com/products/minidspkits/curryman-i2s-dac )
DAC has separate power supplies
USB reciver is Amanero ( https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://www.amanero.com/drivers/combo384-D.pdf )
USB receiver and DAC are in a copper shielded subchassis inside the amp, picture below
Switch selects onboard DAC or RCA line inputs
Knob is ground from semi-precious tigers-eye stone, side panels are Shedua wood.
Width of each chassis is 8.5 inches (215 mm) height is 2 inches (50 mm) and depth is 7.5 inches (190 mm)
This is fairly compact for a Beta 22, especially considering it also includes a decent quality USB DAC.
Compare the size to the Neutrik 1/4" headphone jack on the amplifier...
Pilot light on sigma22 PSU chassis is a subdued white ring around the power switch
DAC and USB receiver are shielded inside copper sub-enclosure.
Star grounding is used.
Signals are carried by teflon / silver coax or teflon / silver wiring
