Just found a storage container - instant headshell storage!

Yeah - as fate would have it, the grommet fit exactly in the bit hole, and the headshell fit exactly in the grommet. Sometimes you're lucky I guess.

Here they are inside a Teac branded CD storage container with sliding glass doors. Wow, I can tell that I took this picture a number of years back. I don't even have some of those cartridges anymore.

I must have close to 2 dozen cartridges mounted. Obsessive? Yeah, probably. Just fun to swap and display though. :biggrin:DSCF0059.jpg

A custom look. I accumulated 6 carts & mounted them but find there are 2 I listen to regularly & I'd like to try an upgraded stylus on a 3rd. So my project will be small compared to your display. I'm not certain what those pink carts are .... you keep those around for the babes? :)

I am anxious to see where this goes. There may be something great to come out of this thread. I am always wanting to improve something,

Those ARE my babies ;) Or one is anyway. Bad photo - the stylus for those two are actually red. Audio Technica AT14SA on the left end (with ATN13 stylus), and AT140LC next to it. I no longer have the AT14SA.

I need to make more room - have a Shure V15 V due in the mail any day. I picked up the body for a price I couldn't refuse, but finding an original stylus will be the problem. I might try the LPGear hyperelliptical, looks to possibly be a Jico from the blue dot on the cantilever :dunno:

I've done some more experimenting. I went on the auction site and purchased an acrylic stand designed to hold e-cigarettes. It works as-is for narrower headshells, but my generic "swiss-cheese" ones don't fit. The large holes are 3/4" diameter, and there's a smaller hole directly underneath that measures 1/4". The smaller hole isn't quite large enough to accommodate the bottom barrel of the headshell, but the pins do press against the sides which holds the headshell somewhat upright. I had to alternate headshells in order to make them fit.

I've also used a cosmetic storage stand that is designed for either nail polish or lipstick. I've tried some large rubber grommets with that one, which has worked pretty good, but I thought that the ecig stand looks nicer. The grommets measured around 7/8" outer diameter, 3/8" inner diameter, with a 1/8" inner groove. I think that I'll try them with the e-cig stand as well. The 3/8" ID seems to provide just the proper amount of snugness, and the soft rubber provides a gentle grip.
