Just picked up a JVC KD-A66 and it is fantastic!

Hi Everyone,
Last week I found a near mint KD-A66 at a Goodwill and I have to say that this is one fine deck. It is completely beautiful, built like a tank, and sounds fantastic. It has the X-cut SA heads and computer bias control. It sounds better than any other two head deck I have owned and it approaches the playback of some of my better 3 head decks. Man! JVC made some nice decks in the day!

No,
For some reason I seem to attract them. My first one was a kd-v44 (my only auto reverse, very well made and sounds great). I also have two Kd-V66 decks (truly fantastic, possibly the nicest sounding decks I have); two KD-A5 decks (nice, but a step below the A66) and a Kd-a22(good basic deck that I will now sell). Two years ago I didn't have a single JVC deck. What amazes me is that, unlike many other decks I find, the JVC decks always seem to work (they must have gone the extra mile with quality components and belts).

Nice find, Rey1 !
I have been thinking about picking up a JVC deck to mate with my integrated/tuna (JA-S44 and VT-22).
Would like to match the aesthetic fairly closely unless I give up a lot of performance (although this probably won't be my main squeeze).
You have a (few?) recommendation(s)?

I think that the A5 or A66 would work well. The VU meters would be different colors, but otherwise each would be a good match. Both are nice decks and very well constructed, but the A-66 is slightly better with X-cut heads and computer bias..
