Just when I thought I was in the clear.

Someone mentions clipping and lower powered amps. I am using a Sony STR 7055 which is 45WPC @ 8ohms. My speakers are Boston Acoustics A-150 which are rated at 100 watts. How do I know what to keep the volume under? The loudest I'd imagine cranking the volume knob on the amp is to 50% which is LOUD. Any way to know where the danger point is without entering it?

If you're amp puts out (too much) DC it might damage your speaker without you noticing it. You can measure that yourself: everything under 50 mV is ok, everything under 10 mV is almost perfect.

Just for fun I searched for the efficiency of the Bostons: supposedly it's 90 dB/1W/1m. Connected to your Sony they will go loud enought to disturb the neigbors and cause damage to your hearing in the long run, so I wouldn't worry too much about clipping.

The sensitivity of the A150's is high enough that you probably shouldn't worry about clipping. Listening at any sane level will ensure you're in the clear.
