who the hell ever heard of Marmants toobed gear anyway!! :lmao:
I just blew up my laptop from all the drool getting on it...:dammit: :drool:Nice score, I would go to any cost to get those up to the best condition possible. 8B, such a gorgeous piece. The speakers aren't bad either!
Oh man I wish you would have told me! I recapped the whole thing and threw the bumblebees away!!!!!
I doubt that those caps were any good anymore. They get very leaky, passing leakage current. Which is bad news if they were coupling caps from a driver tube plate to an out tube control grid. Which upsets the bias, turning the output tube on too hard, making it draw too much current and burning some hard to find replacements for parts out.
The amp wouldn't have sounded the way it did when it was brand new, as well.
got these 2 units with some copper quad esl 57's for cheap!
Look great, I'm scared to turn them on without a variac....
You, sir, have some serious audio gear and a hell of a collection of tubes now. Nicely done. That's the score of a lifetime. Hope you can top it!

The asking price was in the OP; $500.
:thmbsp: I am joking of course.
