Justin Bieber video with turntable.

Except Sinatra actually had talent.

Aye-yup. I like listening to Sinatra records, especially one called "I'll Never Smile Again", from 1940. Frank was an entertainer, a cultural icon, someone who'll be around for a looooooong time to come. Mr Bieber, OTOH, well....

I watched Frank Sinatra tell his goon bodyguards to break a tourist's arm in the lobby of the Flamingo for taking his picture, back around '66-'67. Right in front of the guy's wife and kids. The Flamingo was the last casino in town that would let him in and that ended that. I can't hear Sinatra today without hearing the snap of that poor geek's arm.

Huh?

Yeah, this is the wrong place to direct hate towards Justin Bieber. That should be taken care of on the TUNER forum since Bieber invades tuners much like cockroaches invade kitchens.

cockroaches invade tuners too believe it or not. been to a few dirty and unfortunate folks with them and ive seen them dead in boombox tuner more than once.

Wow, you couldn't get away with that today as the press would be all over that story, although I can't say I am all that surprised. Didn't Sinatra's career take a down turn shortly after that since this would have been "Strangers In The Night" era. Justin Beiber would just have his bodyguard tell his mom about the offending photographer.

LOL at all this! I wanted someone to ID the turntable. Had no idea the thread would become a Bieber hate thread. However, I am not against it at all. As I mentioned earlier, I do not find a soul in Mr Bieber. I have liked turntables since I was 11 and like them even more now. I love good TTs but hate Mr Beiber...

Oh, Sinatra had his, erm, "Foibles", but he was STILL 10X the entertainer Our Boy Justin will ever be.

Actually, the local LV press DID cover it, to my surprise. This was right after Howard Hughes started buying up the town to clean it up and Frank's Mafia thug activities were no longer appreciated.

At one shop I used to do repair work for, we kept garbage bags by the bench to dump the whole unit into if we found cockroaches inside. Happened at least once a week. We'd call the customer and tell him he needed an exterminator more than he needed a repairman.

I bet the adults were saying the same things about Frank Sinatra when he was young.

Except that Bieber is probably more deserving than Sinatra was. Sintatra's ears stuck out more.

Not at all surprising. The man was scummy, even though he could act a little. Had little sense of timing (which, in a real marketing coup, became his "schtick" and what he was praised for as being "original" and "inimitable" (the latter because few are so bad at it!), de-fusing the critics who would point it out). Just like Picasso, he (well, his marketers!) turned the flaws of a mediocre talent into supposed virtues, and got people to equate fame with talent. He never would have made it as big as he did, without the support of his gangster cronies. He was socially adept in some ways, though, popular in some circles but an intimidating wide boy with some real insecurity-driven aggressions who chose entertainment as his arena. Broken arms? Heck, he'd have had you killed and thrown in the river and never seen again if you looked at him askance, if could get away with it. One thing that really boosted him was the Bieber-like appeal to women, esp. in movies. He has rabid fans even today, but then again, so does Beiber, so did Britney,... (I'd better put the flame suit on now, since rabid fans, like rabid dogs, will no doubt attack...).

All these music videos are set up by third parties for the artists in mind. On the day of shooting, the performer just walks in (whoever it happens to be - Bieber or not), shows up and does his day's worth of lipsyncing for the shooting.

In this case, the props on the sets, including the turntable, are gathered together by art directors and their assistants, and these choices usually have little to do with what the artist personally uses, unless he/she has had some say in the video. Sometimes, the props in the video may even reflect corporate sponsorships.

The better-quality turntable in the Justin Bieber video is no doubt the result of someone in the video's creative staff who has an eye for better equipment, not Bieber himself... unless he is a closet audiophile, but the jury's out on that one.

Justin Beiber is a Canadian . Please commece carpet bombing of all of Canada immediately . I will gladly die as collateral damage if it rids the planet of Justin .
