JVC integrated amp opinions

crazy-in-az

Uhhhh....
I found a JVC integrated amp at a swap meet. The guy wanted $25 for it, but I didn't have enough at the time. I believe it is a JVC AX-R350, around 100 watts/channel. It looked fairly nice, it even has a built in equalizer. Is it any good? Anybody use JVC amps, and what's your opinion? Thanks! :scratch2:

Well, I have the one below, but it's of a different time.

I have had a few JVC receivers from the BPC era, and they sound pretty good.

I've got that exact model, just recently found it at a thrift store for $12. This one has a couple small cosmetic issues though but it seems to be a plenty strong amp although i haven't pushed it very hard yet. $25 sounds pretty fair to me for one, especially if the guy still has the remote. You're going to need a tuner to go with it though unless he has one with it. I can get a video demoing it on youtube tomorrow if you'd like. Just PM me if you want.

JVC stuff is of excellent quality, judging by an integrated JVC amplifier I have. It is well made, performs well, and has been trouble free..

I've got a JVC rx-750v, I think that it's a very nice receiver, plenty loud and clear enough for me, even hooked up through mismatched sets of thrift store speakers. It's served me well for more than 6 years now, and when I was in my teens living at home I would blast the hell out of it. Still going strong. I believe it's around 100 wpc as well.

I've got a JVC AX-R441 that I use almost every day. I like it, it has a nice clean sound. 100 wpc, built in EQ, plenty of inputs. No tuner (pre-amp and amp only) but that's not an issue. Wish I had the remote for it.

Not totally on subject, but I also have a JVC JL-A20 semi-auto turntable that is rapidly becoming my favorite for daily use.

Thanks for the answers! I should be able to get it Friday, since I seen it Sunday afternoon, and the swap meets only open Fri-Sun. If I get it I will make a vid for youtube.

I have a JVC AX-R551. It is a nice, well built Integrated from 1990. It was very early in the Home Theater days, so there is a TV mode along with phono. Still 2 channel though.
