Hi Guys, I have this amp bought new in the 70's and it really rocks, but now one channel is on and off and very scratchy and wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a fix. When I turn the volume knob it gets scratchy and I can't get both channels to work together. I have 2 sets of great, old speakers, Sony ULM 3 speaker system from the same era, and a pair of Klipsch Heresys (damn they punch!) and they are both good so the problem is not with them. Thanks in advance for any help - I don't want to lose this amp!

Just an old fart trying to help.
Many times cleaning the controls can make things better.
For starters, have you twisted the volume control from end to end many times WITH THE UNIT OFF? That MIGHT break up any rough spots. And is free. Don't do that with the unit on.
I'd try that first. If that does not fix it then further cleaning might be needed. While you're in there clean any controls you can access. Cleaner has to get INSIDE the controls, simply spraying cleaner on the outside usually does no good.
If you decide to try cleaning the controls this thread can get you started, reading just the first page should be enough, don't worry about all the other pages.
